The CORESTA Routine Analytical Chemistry Sub Group has been given the responsibility to organize the annual testing of the CORESTA Monitor test piece. The 2012 study was designed to:

  • measure mainstream ISO and Intense smoke yields of nicotine-free dry particulate matter (NFDPM), nicotine and carbon monoxide (CO) to verify the current monitor test piece CM7;
  • determine intra- and inter-laboratory variability for the measured ISO and Intense smoke yields for the CM7;
  • verify the conditioned weight for the CM7.
