Application of process capability analysis in evaluation of casing uniformity

In order to quantitatively evaluate the casing uniformity in primary processing, the content of 1,2-propylene glycol in cased tobacco was determined by gas chromatography, the data were analyzed based on the statistical methods in statistical process control. The results showed that tobacco casing in primary processing could be judged by means of control chart and process capability index, and the casing uniformity in steady state could be qualitatively and quantitatively described and evaluated.
