In one experiment conducted in 4 replications, the tobacco varieties belonging to the Oriental, Semi-Oriental and"of large consumption"types was less infected with tomato spotted wilt virus than the varieties belonging to the Virginia and, in particular, to Burley type. Between the varieties belonging to the same type the differences in the infection rate was much lower than between different tobacco types.
