In light of stricter product regulations for cigarettes and increasing restrictions on the marketing of these products, manufacturers of tipping and plug wrap paper have developed a host of innovations to make the tip an outstanding element. To the untrained eye, cigarette tipping paper and plug wrap may appear to be relatively simple components of the cigarette itself that do not possess a great deal of capacity for alteration or development. But that is not the case. In addition to their basic function, these items can be used to market the cigarette, reduce its harmful effects, make it easier and more pleasant to smoke, make it less likely to cause fires and even make the entire industry more environmentally friendly.
