Dihaploid tobacco lines resulted by doubling of the haploids obtained through the in vitro culture of antheres derived from inter and intraspecific tobacco hybrids were studied from the point of view of their genetic and cytogenetic aspect. Dihaploid lines presenting superior production, quality and desease resistance characteristics are used for the genetic information transfer in order to achieve selection objectives.
