In 1987, four polydynamic agrochemicals were tested against tobacco broomrape (Orobanche ramosa L.) in the field : 1) Methyl bromide (1 treatment); 2) Roundup (2 treatments); 3) Scepter 150 LC (4 treatments); 4) Glean 75% (2 treatments). Of the above chemicals, methyl bromide gave excellent results. Roundup first spray 30 ml/1,000 m2 30 days after transplanting and second spray 50 ml/1,000 m2 50 days after transplanting, Scepter 150 LC first spray 30 ml/1,000 m2 30 days after transplanting and second sprary 40 ml/1,000 m2 50 day after transplanting provided very good protection against broomrape. The other treatments were not satisfactory. In Roundup and Scepter 150 LC treatments, low phytotoxicity was observed, whereas in Glean 75' DF treatments the phytotoxicity was very high.
