DIMITROV A.

This paper reports the results of the study and testing of the insecticide Mospilan 20 SP (acetamiprid) on the economically most important sucking pests on tobacco. The data are based on the results from experiments carried out during the period 1995-1997 in three major tobacco growing regions of Bulgaria. It was established that Mospilan 20 SP is more efficient against Myzus persicae Sulz., Trialeurodes vaporariorum Westwood, and Hyalestes obsoletus Sign. as compared to the organo-phosphoric, carbamate and pyrethroide insecticides used so far. An original plant protection technology was developed using acetamiprid for the control of tobacco diseases and pests.
