The eif4E-pvr2 gene is a PVY resistant gene in capsicum, the difference between eif4E-pvr2 gene and eif4E gene in susceptible capsicums is only two nucleotide bases. The susceptive eif4E gene was cloned with RT-PCR from susceptible capsicum, further, eif4E-pvr2 gene was obtained via point mutation, and resistant expression vector pMEIF2301 was constructed. Transformation was conducted with the infection of tobacco leaf discs. GUS and PCR test preliminarily proved that eif4E-pvr2 gene was integrated into tobacco genome.
