Structure verification and thermal decomposition kinetics of β-ionone and β-cyclodextrin inclusion compound

An inclusion compound of β-ionone and β-cyclodextrin was prepared from their saturated solution, analyzed by thermogravimetric analyzer, differential thermal analyzer and IR spectrometer, and applied to cigarette as a flavor. The results showed that: 1) The obtained compound was verified; 2) The thermal stability of the inclusion compound was higher than β-ionone, the bonding of β-ionone and β-cyclodextrin was mainly the results of Van der Waals force; 3) The inclusion compound enhanced the aroma quality and quantity, improved aftertaste and reduced irritation of cigarette smoke.
