The results of experiments on culture isolation, morphologic characteristics, pathogenicity and host range of the pathogen showed that the pathogenic fungus of this disease is a new forma of Colletotrichum capsici, C. capsici (Sdy) Bulter & Bishy f. nicotianae G.M. Zhang & Z. Jiang f.nov. Colinia cicularibus in medio PDA. Marginibus regularibus 81mm (ad25°C) diam in 10 dies. Hyphis fertilibus, ramosae, septatae, chlamydospora formatio in hyphis adulta; conidomatibus acervulitis, 37.8-146.1 µm diametro; setaceae sparisis, bruneolis, erectis, ad apicem acuminatis, septatis 3-5; conidioporis cylindraeis, aseptatis, cellulis comidiogents phialibus; conidiis lunatae, ad apicem, hylinis unicellularae 16.2-24.3 x 3.5-6.2 µm. Appressoriis aterobrunneis, ellipticus, intactus peripheralis raro irregularibus 7.6-10.1 x 5.1-6.5 µm.
