Aging is one of the important quality factors for tobacco of cigarette blend. The most changes that occur during aging on tobacco are on the chemical and taste characteristics. These changes related to temperature, relative humidity. Type and grade tobacco and etc. To determine the the effect of aging on chemical and taste characteristics of Virginia tobacco, this study was conducted on redrying Virginia tobaccos in Dokhaniat warehouse Bandar Torkaman in 2002. In this experiment were selected six grades, including C1O, C1Y, C2O, C3O and C3L. From all grades sampling was conducted every two months and chemical factors such as sugar, nicotine, total ash, potassium, number of acidi, sugar to nicotine ratio and so taste test were evaluated. The results showed that acidi number, sugar and sugar to nicotine ratio factors had the most changes for quality improvement and grades improved in aging process in flavor, taste, impact, combustibility and irritation related to before process of aging.
