No. 62 - Determination of Nicotine in Tobacco and Tobacco Products by Gas Chromatographic Analysis
This Recommended Method is used to quantitatively determine the concentration of nicotine in traditional and very low nicotine (VLN) content tobacco and tobacco products using Gas Chromatography (GC) connected to a flame ionization detector (FID). The method is applicable to ground tobacco, cigarette filler, ground cigar filler, and smokeless tobacco products (e.g. snus, moist snuff, dry snuff, and chewing tobacco) and nicotine pouches.
