No. 87 - Determination of Nicotine in Tobacco Products by GC-MS
This Recommended Method is used to the quantitatively determine the concentration of nicotine in traditional and very low nicotine (VLN) content tobacco and tobacco products using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The method is applicable to ground tobacco, cigarette filler, cigar filler, and smokeless tobacco products (e.g. snus, moist snuff, dry snuff, and chewing tobacco).
