After three successful consecutive online conferences, we are thrilled to have a fully in-person conference this year that will revive CORESTA’s traditional networking and foster new collaborative opportunities.

The CORESTA AP Study Groups recognise a shift within the modern tobacco industry. AP involvement plays a critical role in meeting new and emerging needs of this dynamic landscape. In this spirit, we strongly encourage you to proudly share your work by submitting papers related, but not limited, to the following topics:

• Environment and Social Governance (ESG) in tobacco production, such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), reforestation and biodiversity, curing methods, water resources, soil conservation, improving efficiencies, crop production practices, farmer and field technician education, social and economic challenges
• Supply chain integrity, such as supply chain due diligence, human rights impact assessment, agricultural labour practices, traceability
• Precision agriculture, such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) use, digital solutions, data collection and analysis for improved resource use efficiency and quality productivity
• Leaf chemistry/constituents, such as management of alkaloids, TSNAs, heavy metals, crop protection agents residues, laboratory testing
• Cigar production, from seed to product
• Crop and environmental protection, such as crop protection agents, integrated pest management, biocontrol, diagnostics, monitoring, organic production, emerging pest and disease challenges
• Genetics and plant breeding, such as technology and tools, variety development, germplasm preservation
• Overall sustainability in tobacco leaf production
