By analyzing the correlation of the parameters of tensile speed, length and width of test specimen with longitudinal tensile strength, elongation rate and fracture time of cigarette paper, the effects of different parameters on the results of mechanical property test of cigarette paper and the controlling factors of improving the consistency of test results of longitudinal tensile strength and elongation rate were discussed. The results showed that: 1) in the range of 5-30 mm/min, the tensile strength of cigarette paper increased and the elongation rate somewhat decreased, while the fracture time decreased significantly with the increase of tensile speed; 2) in the range of 100-260 mm, test length negatively correlated with tensile strength and elongation rate, while linearly positively correlated with fracture time; 3) for ensuring the consistency of test results, tensile speed should be set in the range of 18-20 mm/min, and the error of specimen width should be within ±0.1mm.
