Granville wilt is one of the most important diseases which has contributed to decline in the production of flue-cured tobacco in Malawi. The disease is most prevalent in the Southern Region where the crop has been grown for many years with limited rotation resulting in the build up of the pathogen responsible for the development of the disease.
