In order to investigate the influences of regional differences on smoking preferences, “Liqun” brand cigarettes were distributed to random consumers in Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenyang and Lanzhou for sensory evaluation, the scores of 11 sensory indexes and the significance of each index were statistically analyzed. The results showed that aroma quality and fullness, aftertaste comfortableness and smoothness of cigarette smoke were the common indexes about which smokers care most; of the remaining indexes: smokers in Hangzhou were concerned about irritation, smokers in Guangzhou liked sweet aftertaste, smokers in Chengdu preferred stronger impact and higher concentration, smokers in Shenyang liked sweet aftertaste and stronger smoke impact, and smokers in Lanzhou paid more attention to offensive odor, dryness and smoke concentration. It is concluded that the consumers in different regions have different smoking preferences.
