The Covid-19 pandemic and its global repercussions are driving change and innovation and indeed creating "opportunities and challenges". Activities continue, and thanks to science and modern technology, many conferences this year are being held online.
Following the cancellation of the scheduled CORESTA Congress in Vienna, Austria, the CORESTA Scientific Commission investigated alternative possibilities to replace the highlight of the association's meeting year and honour the research work of scientists. Together with the Board, the decision was made to bring the CORESTA Congress into the virtual arena.
CORESTA wishes to thank all the authors of abstracts for their submissions. Despite the uncertainty of the situation, a large number of abstracts were received for both oral and poster presentations. Abstract authors responded very positively to the proposed change in event organisation and 88 indicated their willingness to maintain their presentations and share their scientific work in an online Congress. In addition to these, an extra 23 CORESTA Sub-Group and Task Force reports have been prepared by group Coordintors, along with 17 session introductions by Scientific Commission executives, and 3 Congress introductions by CORESTA Executives. This brings the total number of online presentations to 131!
CORESTA is committed to keeping scientific communication active, to promoting cooperation and to providing you with the best possible online Congress experience during these exceptional times.
