15th Collaborative Study (2022) on Physical Parameters of Cigarettes and Filter Rods

PTM Technical Report

January 2023 Ref. PTM-335-CTR

The CORESTA Physical Test Methods (PTM) Sub-Group carries out a normally annual inter-laboratory study on physical parameters of cigarettes and filter rods. This Collaborative Study monitors the repeatability and reproducibility of the test methods used and allows the participating laboratories to assess their performance when measuring certain physical parameters of cigarettes and filter rods, such as weight, diameter, pressure drop, draw resistance and ventilation. In addition to monitoring the performance of the test methods, the results from this study allow each laboratory to evaluate its proficiency in comparison to other laboratories, to derive actions for improvement and to fulfil accreditation requirements.

This report covers the results of the fifteenth Collaborative Study on physical parameters conducted in 2022.

Please note: figures in Appendix C updated in November 2023.
